Large Bore Tenor Trombone

Griego large bore tenor mouthpieces work exceptionally well in orchestral and wind band settings. They provide a distinct and rich large bore sound that will complement the other brasses.

NEW: Artist Series Tenor Model 56

With a 1.040" cup diameter and a .280" throat, the 56 is a mouthpiece that fits in between many other sizes. Its deep cup creates a beautiful depth of sound. This may not be an ideal solo or principal mouthpiece. The upper register is good, but endurance could be an issue on longer programs.

This mouthpiece will allow orchestral second trombonists to excel. A large breadth of sound will give those around you the feedback they desire. The deep cup will aid in creating a dark sound that will keep your principal from feeling that you are pushing them. It is important to maintain your own color in the section!

Artist Series Tenor Model 55

The Artist Model 55 is the result of learning from musicians that I work with on a daily basis. Wanting a mouthpiece that has stability and control through all registers with unbelievable clarity on the front of the note was the goal.

I paid special attention to the engagement of the shank and back bore volume during the design phase. The result is a very stable mouthpiece that provides a nice resonance and a bit of cushion (compression-wise) to push against to keep one from fatigue. The sound is deep and resonant while still having a nice blossom of color.

Large Bore Tenor Model 3.5

The Griego 3.5 is great for the tenor trombonist that wants the room of a larger mouthpiece without a huge cup depth. As Griego large bore tenor mouthpieces increase in cup diameter, cup depths are adjusted so as to not become too deep. The combination of wide and deep can cause the player to increase pressure on the rim and tighten the aperture. This can lead to a strained sound in the middle and upper registers.

A full natural sound is achieved in all registers with the balance found in the Griego Mouthpiece design.

New York
Nouveau
The NY blank weighs slightly more than modern day Bach mouthpieces (Elkhart blanks). Its weight is distributed evenly around the bottom of the cup. This results in an even core of sound with overlapping overtones, creating a tone quality that is thicker than conventional mouthpieces. The NY also provides the midrange overtones that are often lost with other mouthpieces.
Deco
Deco
The Deco blank is heavier in mass than the NY blank. The added weight is great for large bass trombone mouthpieces that may have thinner walls due to larger inner cup diameters. It is very free blowing and can provide a bigger, darker sound than mouthpieces with less weight. The Deco also provides stability, which can help define partials on those trombones where extra focus is needed.
Nouveau
Nouveau
Our newest mouthpiece blank, the Nouveau was created to give trombonists the flexibility a lighter mouthpiece can provide. It provides a width of sound and wider partial feel for a natural playing experience. Every tone and timbre can be manipulated, making the Nouveau a very expressive mouthpiece.
